Duct tape tool belt

Ethan has been helping his grandpa and his Uncle Jon out with a remodeling project on the weekends. He apparently decided he needed a tool belt to be appropriately attired. In true Ethan style, he made his own - from duct tape! He probably won't misplace it anywhere since it is blaze orange. He chose a carabiner closure.  I got him the book Ductigami and a box of different colors of duct tape for Christmas two years ago and he has gotten lots of use out of it since then. He made a bandolier and a wallet during the winter months, along with other miscellaneous projects.  He even led a DIY duct tape wallet workshop for his scout group last year. He really doesn't need the book though.  Often he just comes up with his own ideas and execution for them.  What a creative mind!

Rare reptiles

This is a rare blue-spotted salamander. And the first one I've ever seen!!!!!! I know its really hard to see his spots.

We love Legoland!

We went to Chicago for a few days over spring break.  Rich and the boys spent the whole day at Legoland and Julie got to go to Ikea.  The boys spend lots of time building cars and racing them down the ramp and even took some time to visit with R2D2 and Darth.  Julie joined in on the fun later to have her picture taken with Hagrid and Harry with his Nimbus 2000.

It's always something...

It seems like you take a fun trip somewhere and then come back to not fun issues at home.  That would be a septic pumping for the Hays household.  Ethan, of course, was right in the thick of it, even operating the stick in the hole.

Wesley was less amused...

Fun at Cabelas

You just can't drive all the way to Chicago and not stop at Cabelas on the way home!  We enjoyed seeing the fish and the animals around the mountain in the middle of the store.  They boys had fun in the shooting gallery and Wesley even kissed a fish!

Spring break begins...

Ahhh, spring break has started and we are relaxing.  Reading and playing carrot checkers...and Zero even gets in on the relaxation.
