New pets, part 2

We also got a pair of fire-bellied toads.  Wesley has named one Inferno and one Red-belly.  In one photo you can actually see Inferno's fire belly, although the view through the glass is not the best.  Ethan has named the gecko, Rango.

Happy Birthday, Ethan!

My firstborn turns eleven today.  How can he possibly be that old?  It seems like just a few short years ago that he was came into my life and changed it forever - so much for the better.  I thank God for giving me an amazing son that has an endless stream of curiosity, a tender heart, a helpful spirit, and a boundless supply of energy.  His brain just never stops cranking out new things!   I love you so much, Ethan!

One of our new pets

We have some new pets, one of which is a leopard gecko.  The boys love him and like to let him crawl around on them.  Ethan noticed him licking his eye with his long tongue and plans to try to catch him on video at a later date so maybe you'll be lucky enough to see that!  More news in a day or 2 on the other 2 new pets we have.  :)

Happy birthday to Julie

Rich got me the most awesome sneakers ever for my birthday. I totally love them! They are Converse sneakers made with Marimekko fabrics, which I totally adore. Aren't they just fab?  I couldn't resist -- I wore them to school on my birthday.  Woohoo!

Slithering Serpents

Slithering serpents were under a tree in our yard.  I think they are babies.

A new blog for school

I have spent some time setting up a new blog to use in my classroom this year. Feel free to check it out! Family updates will still be posted on this blog.

Getting back in the groove

Well, I'm getting back in the swing of things at school!  I've been in several times and worked on organizing.  I have reorganized my entire class library by topic instead of by level.  I'm excited about that.  I hope it will be much more usable that way.  New curtains and table toppers are out.  Desks and chairs are in place.  The meeting place is ready.   If I do say so, it's looking great!  Some pix may show up here soon!
